NORSEMAN

The Noorduyn Norseman is a high-wing, single-engine “bush plane” designed to operate from unimproved surfaces. It was purposely designed and built by Robert Noorduyn to operate in the rugged Canadian back country. The Norseman was the first Canadian designed and built aircraft to be sold internationally. It was also sold to the military in eight countries. The United States Army Air Forces called the Norseman the UC-64.
The museum’s Norseman was built in 1944 and sold to the USAAF. It returned to Canada in 1956 and eventually crashed at Bronson Creek, B.C. Damaged beyond economical repair, the museum acquired it and restored it to airworthy condition. Our Norseman is prominently featured on the museum’s logo.
